A Day out with THOMAS!

Yesterday was one of the funnest days for me as a mother. We, along with our friends, Zach, Andrew and Andrea and their two kids, Lincoln and Autumn went to Heritage Park for "A Day out with Thomas". Carter was SO excited and so was I. I was so excited to see my little boy so excited... to see his reaction when he first saw Thomas. To watch his excitement when he found out he got to RIDE on Thomas! I was in heaven and so was he. It was a wonderful day.

Brian went and bought tickets at 6:30 that morning.. it was worth it! We got to the park around 1pm and waited for our friends to arrive! So while we waited, Carter found it appropriate to play in the dirt... with a train of course.. typical carter!

The minute they all arrived, Carter and Lincoln were inseparable! It was ADORABLE! My heart instantly melted as we watched these two best friends walk straight into their "dream-land" together!

 photo 2.jpg

With Bentley chillin in the stroller and sweet little Autumn in the wagon we were ready to go in!

 photo 3.jpg

But not without chasing and playing first... obviously!

 photo 5.jpg

Only 5 minutes into the park... we saw him... THOMAS THE TRAIN!

 photo 7.jpg

Carter and Lincoln were SUPER excited! Carter was SO excited when we told him he gets to ride on Annie (which is the passenger Car that Thomas always pulls in the shows) and while we were sitting on "Annie" Carter kept saying with a surprised and ecstatic kind of look.."CARTER ON ANNIE!!" kind of like.. MOM IS THIS FOR REAL!? IS THIS REAL LIFE?! It was so cute and as a Mother.. a moment I will never forget!

 photo 8.jpg

Even Autumn loved the train ride.. what a little cutie!

 photo 9.jpg

These kids are SO CUTE and with a little package of fruit snacks each (Thanks Andrew & Andrea) we were on our way!

 photo 10.jpg

 photo 11.jpg

Bentley enjoyed his first train ride too!! Even though Im not sure he even noticed we were on a train but he was happy like always!

 photo 12.jpg

We were so happy to share this super fun day with some of our best friends and total adorable family..

 photo 13.jpg

They are the sweetest people you will ever meet, Carter and Lincoln LOVE each other so much and are always having a blast together (not to mention Carter always asks to go play with (or phone) "Linc") He really loves him! And they also have one of the cutest little girls Ive ever seen.. we love you so much sweet little Autumn!

 photo 14.jpg

The train ride was about 20 minutes.. taking us around the track 3 times. And although its impossible to get carter to smile when the camera comes out, he had so much fun and it was worth every penny!

 photo 15.jpg

After the train ride, we had a few diaper issues thanks to Bentley and Autumn so we stopped at a little green space to fix that business and while we were doing that.. look at what the two boys got themselves into...

 photo 16.jpg

No broken legs.. so we were good to go again! Carter was excited to pull his little princess! photo 17.jpg

And bentley was basking in the sun enjoying the sights! What more could a little 6 month old want!?

 photo 18.jpg

Next up was the rides. I have never really been to Heritage Park before other than a few events formal like grade 9 grad and Andrew & Andrea's wedding so it was fun to see all that they had! Not all the rides were open but they did have the little ferris wheel! This was Carter's very first ride ever and I wasn't sure how he would like it.. but he went right up with Lincoln.. and got right on! No issue.

 photo 22.jpg

What brave little boys! Thanks to Linc for being such a good example... Carter really looks up to him!

Next was the Boat swings.. (this is what I will call them.. Im not sure if they have a "real" name or not.) Holy cow these boys LOVED it!

 photo 24.jpg

 photo 25.jpg

It was so fun to see them smiling at laughing with each other.. forgetting the world and just being little kids. It was wonderful and Im sure they would have stayed on them all day if there wasn't a line up. They are so fun!

 photo 26.jpg

Next up.. the carousel! The Daddy's took them on this one!

 photo 27.jpg

 photo 28.jpg

And to get them away from the rides (or else we would have been there all day) we told them we would check out the candy store!

 photo 29.jpg

Which sounded awesome.. and so did the entire bag of candy they each ate for lunch.. of my gosh.. bad parent moment... but I cant say I regret it.. once in a blue moon is ok .. loosen up .. id be lying if I said I never did it.

So as the kids were devouring their bags of candy we just hung out in the beautiful sun, chatted, laughed and enjoyed each others company. Everyone was happy.. including Autumn.. despite her impressive stink face... she's mastered it for sure!

 photo 30.jpg

Here's the thing though...stink face and all.. she is still just so cute! She must get that from her mama... she is Stunning!

 photo 33.jpg

 photo 34.jpg

It was also SO nice to spend the whole Saturday with my hunny! Now that school is over he is all mine on Saturdays and I cherish every moment of that! I love him to pieces. He is my everything and I LOVE sharing exciting parenting moments like this with him!

 photo 31.jpg

Lincoln and Carter were all over the place.. but mostly all over the place together.. if one sat in the wagon.. they both did.. if one was running around.. they both were. It was cute!

 photo 35.jpg

We made our way over to see the little animals that were out.. the pigs..

 photo 36.jpg

and the chickens..

 photo 37.jpg

Super exciting animals right!? At least they kids were satisfied! We also tried so so hard to take a cute picture of all 4 kids.. but heres the thing.. Carter WILL NOT smile for the camera no matter how crazy you are trying to get him to smile.. so this is the only one of all 4 at least sitting..I mean look at these kids.. could they get any cuter!

 photo 38.jpg

and then FINALLY just as Lincoln calls it a day .. Carter lets out a little smirk.. lol.. good timing buddy.

 photo 39.jpg

Autumn and Bentley were falling madly in love...

 photo 40.jpg

And Bentley.. well.. need I say more.. he is such a stud!

 photo 41.jpg

We were hanging out with a few studs on this fun day... mostly the guy on the far left.. but Im not sure he beats the two shorter guys ...

 photo 42.jpg

And at the far end of the park .. where the Animals were.. we waited there and got to see Thomas the train up close and personal as he rode by.. peeping his whistle at he boys.. it was a great way to be reminded of just how much these boys love trains.

 photo 43.jpg

 photo 44.jpg

 photo 46.jpg

And right before we headed home, the kids (minus Bentley) got their face painted. .. Autumn sat so nicely for her first time and looked SO CUTE after...

 photo 45.jpg

Lincoln decided to get a spiderman on his arm..

 photo 47.jpg

and Carter.. well Carter's face paint was AWFUL.. like honestly hideous lol.. He wanted to be "Gordon the Blue Train" and you would think at a Thomas the train function.. the train face would look a little better.. I originally asked if she could just paint a train on his cheek .. not his whole face but she said she didn't know how to.. RED FLAG.. lol here he is.. my little cutie.. gone train!

 photo 48.jpg

We each bought our Boys a train.. Lincoln picked out the Black Diesel named Mavis and Carter picked out Rosie.

 photo 49.jpg

We had such an incredible day spent with such amazing friends. This will definitely be a family tradition for us. Seeing how happy and excited Carter was filled my heart with so much joy. Sometimes being a mother is hard... it can be stressful and exhausting but seeing the look on little Carter's face as he saw Thomas in real life for the first time, watching him and lincoln running, laughing and playing.. enjoying every minute of the day together.. those are the moments that take over the exhaustion and the stress and leave your soul feeling full. I love being a mother.
