Potty Time. We CAN do this!
Ok well, I think I can officially say that I really don't like Potty Training. Although the worst is over.. I think! One week ago, we started potty training... exhausting! Especially because Carter has always been pretty independent and potty training him has been tricky because I NEVER leave him alone.. just incase he needs to do any business! We use Potty Treat... bribing is working... but the treats have gotten better and better... we are turning into the Island of Sodor over here!
We first started with Fruit snacks.. AKA: "Candy" .. but that wasn't appealing enough after day 1 so I went to the dollar store and made a bucket of "treats" for when he goes pee..
And a bucket of treats for when he goes poop! Clearly the poop treats are better... that's because "poop training" is a whole OTHER kind of training.. at least for Carter.
Day One was good. He only had 2 accidents. Day 2 was pretty good too.. only 3 accidents. Day 3 was awesome.. no pee accidents.. but one poop.. which is basically as bad as 3 pee accidents lol.. ewww. Day 4 to 7 has been pretty good too... between 0 and 1 accident a day and just yesterday he decided it was pretty fun to go poop on the Potty! YAY! But before we all get too excited.. this is why.. his "poop" potty treats have gotten better and better.. NOW when he goes poop on the potty he gets a train!
A "Gordon" train was the for the first poop! Funny... Gordon and I have basically the same face about potty training.. very appropriate! WOW.. we are awesome parents lol. I bet most kids would like to potty train here if we encouraged their addiction for pooping in the potty! The second poop.. he got this big "Skarloey" Train...
...and the best part about Skarloey is his Puppet Show...
He loves his new trains! And I LOVE that he is starting to poop in the potty.. a win/win really... minus the bank account... lol we are already moving on to small trains.. and then a Thomas water bottle lol. This is for next time..

We will do ANYTHING for Carter to poop in the potty.. including eating Waffles..
And when he goes.. we PARTY!
And as for Bentley! He has been such a good little helper! Happily playing on the floor.. with trains.. of course..
He is such a good baby. While I sit in the bathroom trying to encourage carter to go potty.. he just hangs out, plays.. rolls around. I am SO GLAD he is not crawling as I am trying to potty train! It makes it so much easier!
So week one of potty training is done. There were days I wanted to give up.. thinking a diaper is so much easier... but NO! I have to keep with it.. we have come to far now to turn around! It will be so nice once its done! I ask Carter probably 1000 times a day if he needs to go potty and most of the time he says.. "No thank you Mommy". I bribe him to go potty and he usually does .. sometimes he kicks and cries.. and then he wil quickly pee .. get a potty treat.. give me a hug and say "no fying" (-AKA: No crying"). I love him so much! i love celebrating potty success with him and as we learn together to deal with potty accidents.. Im glad he is my little buddy to learn with!
