A little bit of everything.
Well, here we are 34 weeks and completely in nesting mode.. actually I've been "nesting" for the past week or so and it feels great!
At 34 weeks I am starting to reach the "I'm done being pregnant" stage... everything is achy and Im having the hardest time sleeping at night. Im feeling so much pressure and lower belly pain and I'm convinced that baby is now head down because I think he is sticking his little feet at the top of my ribs. We have another baby doctor appointment this coming Friday so I will know for sure but I think he is head down which is super exciting for me! I have been getting dizzy spells too lately.. which I never had when I was pregnant with Carter so I'm anxious to talk to my doctor about that too. I would be excited to have baby a little early (maybe not just yet) but Brian's school schedule is insane until the beginning of November so if baby decides to stay in there until his due date that would be ok too.
With the help of both of our Moms, we have got freezer meals and canning done... the baby room is just about finished... his clothes are organized, washed and put away!
A couple of weeks ago my mom came over and gave Brian and I a Baby basket for our newest addition! It was SOO CUTE!
And it was filled with EVERYTHING you could imagine! In fact, my mom was more on top of it then I was... she put everything from diapers and wipes.. to cute baskets, vitamin D, Infant Tylenol, Vaseline, baby wash, new soothers, toys, these two adorable little stuffed animals ...
...and so much more! Honestly mom, thank you SO MUCH! It was such a nice gift and we cannot thank you enough!
We decided this time around to do the baby room a grey colour with little accents of orange in it. Carter's baby room was all blue and brown so we wanted to do something a little different for this little guy.
Im starting to get excited about how its turning out... I love that its just subtle and relaxing.. nothing to crazy ... and aside from a couple of little things like the window coverings, bumper pads and crib skirt I think we are all done!
We found the cutest fabric for the bedding and window valance and we ordered it online and my amazing mother-in-law is sewing them for us!
I am totally addicted to chevron at the moment! As for the small decor on baby's walls, I just bought a few white picture frames .. all a little different and some really cute scrapbook paper and made little pictures with them... small and simple.
Last week, we packed our hospital bags...
... Washed out the carseat and I think everything is pretty much ready for baby!
We have been so lucky to have such great parents who are also so excited to welcome this little guy into their world too. Everyone has been really supportive and helpful! Brian's mom made us this adorable carseat canopy .. with the worlds cutest fabric! Thanks Mom!!
We never had one for Carter, but Ive heard so many good things about having a carseat canopy so I'm excited to give it a try!
And when the baby first comes home, he will sleep in our room for the first little bit in the playpen beside me.
I see the playpen set up like this every night before bed and it makes me so excited to meet this little munchkin. I can't wait to see who he will look like!
As for Big Brother Carter.. I think he is starting to understand a little more that there is a baby on his way. When my mom gave us the basket full of things for the baby I immediately put the two stuffed animals in the crib so Carter wouldn't instantly adopt them as his own ... Carter was already in bed when my mom dropped them off so he didn't see them at all and I really didn't think he would even notice them... but was I ever wrong. The second he woke up in the morning.. he went straight into the baby room and laid eyes on the new stuffies. Right away he tried to climb into the crib... but I stopped him right away and said "no no Carter.. those belong to the baby.. .lets go and find Carter's teddies!!" He seemed a little confused.. not upset, just confused. I quickly ran into Carter's room to get his teddy .. I was literally gone for no more than 15 seconds... and I come back to this....
Yes, Carter in the crib... I have no idea how he managed to do it so fast but he did.. I grabbed my iPhone and took this picture to send to Brian to tell him the story... then Carter started to rub his entire body all over his brother's stuffed animals.. hahaha.. .like he was claiming them to now be his lol
Then looked at me like... no big deal mom...
... I Love these teddies!
I thought it was going to be much more traumatic when I took them away and explained to Carter again that these belong to the new baby.. but he just gave them each a kiss and willingly left them there.. and hasn't tried to play with them since.. intact when he sees them in the crib he just says... "baby mommy baby".. its so precious! He is going to be such a good Big Brother!
I know this because he is such a good brother to George.. I know it sounds crazy.. but he honestly just LOVES George to death...
And although George doesn't always "LOVE" Carter.. he is usually a pretty good sport. Carter is going to LOVE playing with his little brother in a year or so too! I can already see the two of them loving the park as much as Carter does now!
All the worlds problems are fixed at the park! He could play for hours and I can only imagine how much more fun it will be for him when his brother is big enough to play too!!
This little boy brings me so much joy! He can always make me smile and makes my days have so much more meaning! I can't wait to introduce him to his little brother.. even though I am not naive and understand how exhausting, and crazy our little house will become it still brings me excitement and happiness!
And there it is.. our soon to be even more crazy life with TWO little boys...the countdown is on!!
Love you Brian! Love you Carter! Love you Baby Reed!
