Tis' the Season for C.H.O.C.O.L.A.T.E!

Oh how I love the Christmas season! I love the smell of baked apples and cranberries and the beautiful Christmas lights that light up the night. I love sitting by the fire watching christmas movies with my love while our little sugarplum dreams in his bed. But one of my favourite Christmas traditions came when I met my Brian. You might remember from last year, but his family, each year, gets together and makes homemade chocolates!

It is such a F.U.N thing to do. So much work, but so much love goes into those chocolates and they are perfectly delicious!

One of the funnest parts of the chocolate making is the "dipping"...

Its a complete mess and I still haven't mastered it but I am confident that one day I will!

Now, above is Katherine! She is the sweetest little girl you will ever meet and she is a PRO-STAR at dipping! I should take note! She was working with some of the softest fondant and still was able to make her chocolates look perfect!

As for me... This was the "cutest" chocolate I was able to create lol

And Voila! That little beauty in the middle!

The Day started off bright and early at 9am! We had our hands in chocolate in no time!

There are always so many different flavours of fondant including, orange, strawberry, olympia cream, butter rum, coconut, vanilla and my personal favourite... Peppermint!

Once the chocolates were dipped and chilled, they were all cupped!

Once they were cupped, they were sorted and placed on the table ready to be packaged!

A few of us stood around the table and passed the trays along putting one or two chocolates of each flavour on the tray. Once we were done, they were then ready to be sealed with plastic wrap and ready to be divided!

It was a busy day... and a lot hands made it all happen! We ended up making 165 trays which was approximately 2300 chocolates (and no "2300" is not a typo!) Grandma Reed is AMAZING! We LOVE how she is sharing this tradition with us. What a special thing to pass on! I will defiantly keep it going!
