A quick Update...

Wow, today is a lonnng day. Carter has a little cold which always makes for longer days. But before we get to that.... how about this! Carter's first Thanksgiving! We were lucky enough to have Two thanksgiving dinners. We had one on Saturday evening with my In-laws and it was amazing... and one on Sunday with my parents... and it was amazing! We found out that Carter really enjoyed his Grandma Reed's Sweet Potatoes and stuffing and he loved his Grandma Gardiner's carrots and rutabaga smash and stuffing. That little boy LOVES carbs.. must be like his mama lol.

I especially enjoyed this thanksgiving, as I pondered everything I was thankful for in my life. This year I am SO thankful for our beautiful little boy! He is happy and healthy and truly is my little turkey.

In other exciting news... Carter got his 8th tooth week!!! And on Thanksgiving Sunday (October 9th) at 10 1/2 months old... Carter no longer uses a bottle. We went "cold turkey" from bottle...

To Sippy Cup...

And to be honest.. it was SO easy... for him! In fact the last few weeks he really has been fussing when I tried to give him his bottle... but bottle time for me means cuddle time, so you can imagine that I did not want to give up my cuddle time with him! However... he has surprised us. In the last 6 days, he has been going to bed and sleeping like an angel without his bottle. He still does his morning nap at 10am, afternoon nap at 2pm and he sleeps from 7:30pm to 7:30am every night. And as much as I miss my cuddle time I knew he was ready to stop the bottles.

I must admit though it is really nice not washing bottles multiple times a day! Just one sippy-cup is much faster! This week, Carter also got yet another cold. This poor little guy has my immune system... Catches EVERYTHING!

Please excuse the sad running nose... but no matter how many times I wipe it.. it just looks like this. I learned early on when he was a baby to always wipe his nose with a receiving blanket or a little burpie.. it is way softer on their sensitive skin and although he hates when I wipe his nose.. it could be much worse. So you can imagine how much of these I have been washing this week....

And.. washing everything else including his toys that he just LOVES to rub his buggers on and put in his mouth... gross!

Although Carter is completely congested .. he is only a little fussier than normal... but all in all he is in pretty good spirits which tells me its not his tummy feeling yucky.. which is nice!

I hate when my little guy is sick.. its always so sad for me. I just want him to be better... and be able to breath again! This congestion is just to much for a little one! But until he gets better... we just stay in and play... drink lots and lots of fluids and watch Treehouse!

I Love you Carter...!!!
